Some of the wealthiest patricians of Rome are amongst this Faction. They have loaned the Republic millions of Talents in gold and silver to prosecute wars over the decades and control some of the most lucrative grain concessions in return.

Pompeius Magnus is the current Pontifex Maximus of Rome. Under his careful guidance, this faction has gained control of all the various priesthoods, churches and has influence over most (if not all) of the magical schooling within the Empire. Their magical engineers are responsible for the Appian Way along with many of the aqueduct systems that produce the fresh water for Rome citizens.

The Faction of the People…or so they claim. Raising most of their money via donations from the lower classes, this faction pushes for laws that protect its citizens and are always seeking to prosecute any senator who appears to act contrary to their code of conduct. To this end, they appear to have influence over many of the Tribunes who attend the Senate.

Led by M. Tullius Cicero, many of whom claim he is the best orator in Roman history, this faction has managed to position itself as a neutral third party between many of the warring factions. They take great care to never appear to be supporting any one faction over another. It is said that if you want to get anything passed in the Senate, it first must pass through this faction…and there is always a price to be paid.
